Friends To Football Manager

The First 6 Months – February 1st 2019

Brackley Town: As expected Brackley are comfortably top by 9 points in the Vanarama National League North. They got to the Fa Cup 2nd round where they knocked out by league 1 Bury FC. They are still in the FA Trophy and i wouldnt back against them winning it.

In the league they have played 27, won 16, drawn 6 and lost only 3. A plus 32 goal difference is more than double that of anyone else in the league. I will post the final league table in May but it would take some sort of collapse for Brackley not to be promoted this season.

David Stone: An ever present for Brackley so far this season. Dave has played in every game this season all 34 of them. Not only has he played that many games he has only conceeded 19 goals and kept 19 clean sheets in the process. This is some seriously impressive form. Average rating 7.27.

Gary Hill: Another player who has played pretty much all season. Gary has made the left back position his own playing 33 times in all competitions and scoring twice and assisting another 3 in the process. Average rating 6.93.

Graeme Woodward: Has played a solid 30 games and would have for sure been more if it wasn’t for the 2 red cards and 5 yellow cards. Despite the poor disciplinary record the right back is in very good form with an average rating 6.99.

Jonno Woodward: Developing into a real fans favourite at the club the center back has been in fine form. 5 Man of the mach performancers in his 32 appearances which have also got him two goals and three assists. Average rating 7.05.

Matt Sykes: The other half of the center back duo was having a great season up until December when he tore his groin. Having been out for nearly a month and a half Matt will hopefully return to action around the end of March. He did manage to notch up 22 appearances before his injury and was showing signs of his potential. Average Rating 6.90.

Olly Lyon: This seems to be a bit of a strange one, although he has managed seven assists in his 23 starts for the club, Olly cannot seem to hold down the center mid role permanently. He will be hoping for a good second half of the season to really make the center midfield position his own. Average Rating 6.90.

Mike Clifton: The other half of the center midfield and again the same situation, although making 22 starts and scoring 3 and assisting 6, the manager doesnt seem to want to play Mike in every game. Carry on in this form this season and double figures of assists should be on the cards. Average Rating 6.87.

Tom Hutton: This one is even stranger, Tom has only started 7 games so far this season and has assisted 5 goals in these games. The manager has played him in 17 reserve games and again 4 goals and 8 assists seems to suggest that this is not a good enough level. He will be hoping to get a few more chances to impress. Average Rating 7.34.

Matt Hutton: Another one that the manager seems to only half trust. Just the 18 starts but these have returned 5 goals and 6 assists. I’m not sure what a player needs to do to hold a position down! Average Rating 7.19.

Luke Hutton: Being discribed as a goal machine in the local press is never a bad thing especially when its being used to describe a 16 year old. 13 goals in 19 games is pretty good going for a player in their first ever season. This could have been even more if it hadn’t been for a thigh injury that kept him out for a month. Average Rating 7.12.

Jozef Fullerton: A mixed half of the season for the english/polish striker. Although he hasn’t managed to find his scoring boots netting just 8 times in 23 games, he was made Brackley Town captain. Maybe this weight was weighing on the goalscorers mind. Average Rating 6.93.

So far so good for Brackley Town, steamrolling the league and the kids are doing them proud. Will bigger clubs start circling or will the players want to stay with Brackley for the journey. Find out what will happen in the next chapter……
